CritterOps — Support
Monitor humane traps, get alerted the moment one closes, and keep rodents out.
Setting up a trap
- Power on the trap. On first start it creates its own Wi-Fi network named MouseTrap-XXXX.
- Join that network from your phone. A setup page should open automatically; if it does not,
open http://192.168.4.1 in your browser.
- Choose your home Wi-Fi, enter its password, then create your account.
- The trap reboots, joins your network, and appears in the app.
Calibrating the sensor
Calibrate with the trap door closed. The distance sensor reaches about 190 mm,
so with the door open there is nothing in range to measure against. Watch the live reading on the
Calibration screen until it settles, then tap Recalibrate. The trigger point is set 30 mm inside
that baseline.
Common questions
- The trap shows offline. Check it has power and is in Wi-Fi range. If its network
changed, the trap reopens its MouseTrap-XXXX setup network after a few minutes so you
can point it at the new one.
- Calibration says nothing is in range. The door is open, or nothing is within the
sensor's reach. Close the door and try again.
- No alerts. Confirm notifications are allowed for CritterOps in iOS Settings.
- Storage is full. Delete old captures from the gallery to free space.
